His area for action is plural, he is above all faithful to the human as the starting point and driving force of each of his projects. Supplier of singular and intimate objects, José Lévy weaves links between his creations and their recipients.

Jose Levy is a Parisian traveler and artist who navigates with talent and a poetry tinted with humor between fashion, decorative arts and plastic arts.

Re-creator of memories, clean or borrowed, José Lévy animates each of his fantasy creations and the rigor that characterizes him. Laureate of the Villa Kujoyama, Grand Prix of the City of Paris and Knight of the Arts and Letters, he designs for a passionate audience of stories about the past and the new horizons.

Jose Levy collaborates with the most recognized art and design galleries and publishers: Hermès, Perrotin, Galerie des charpentiers, Cristalleries Saint-Louis, Diptyque, Astier of Villatte, Manufacture of Sèvres, ...

PAD Paris - Kokeshi

The range of sculpture designed by José Lévy is characterised by two fundamental design operations. The first is an act of abstraction.

The dolls are entirely black, deprived of the coloured touches that traditionally animate them.

The second was a change of scale. José Lévy’s large, dark Kokeshis exceed human proportions. This ambiguous scale, the magnification of a reduced model, gives a new scale to the meticulous gestures of making.
